Every product contains assumptions about people: what they will notice, understand, remember, reach, tolerate, learn and do often in circumstances very different from those imagined during development.

Contextual research, human-factors analysis and evaluation make those assumptions visible and testable. Evidence around behaviour, cognition, physical capability and real-world context is translated into requirements, principles and design decisions.
